There are 2 types of calls Rick offers:

A.  A Full Session : Fees for Online and Face to Face

B.  Non-session Follow-ups / Informal Calls

 

 

01 Online and Face to Face Sessions 

Currently, most sessions are done online.

Sessions usually last for 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes. The duration is flexible since the focus is you relaxing and feeling better.  

Session fees start at $150 USD.  Ask about possible discounts.  

 

 

02 Non-session Follow-ups / Informal Calls 

A Non-session call means a call requested by a client who needs to talk with Rick for 10 to 20 minutes. An example of an Non-session call is the individual has a question or 2 regarding a recent session.  

Non-session calls are available only to clients who are enrolled in sessions and actively pursuing change work.

Most clients schedule 3 to 5 visits, with no more than 1 session per week, within approximately a 2-month period. 

We encourage you to book only 1 session per week since you will probably request at least 1 Non-session call for follow up. Most clients see significant change in less than 6 weeks. The number of sessions depends on what change work you are pursuing.    

A word of encouragement: Change work happens quickly.  All you need is a small library of resources and a community that understands and knows how to help you.  

Our Community is not an Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) support group. 

We are not a 12 step program, such as AA. This means when you join and schedule a session with RK, join a podcast, or make a video with us, you are speaking with someone who is trained.    

Why do people request a session with a hypnotherapist?

Sometimes your reason for attending sessions is obvious. An example of this is you want to quit smoking or another habit you consider “bad.” Feel free to listen to a podcast or watch one of our videos on this subject.    

Sometimes the reason for booking a session with Rick is not clear. Instead, you know “something” is wrong. We call this a red flag. In this case, it may take 1 or 2 sessions to discover what change you want to make.

Common topics / questions for Hypnotherapists / how the process works

 

01 When I’m in a trance (or hypnotic state), what does it feel like?

Your unconscious mind controls the process as your conscious mind yields to it. 

A trance state happens when your conscious mind becomes trusting enough to allow the unconscious to guide it. If this sounds familiar, it should. Every time you fall asleep at night or wake up in the morning, you experience this phenomenon. 

When you experience going into a trance with a hypnotherapist, the trance state is a guided and relaxing experience. Since your unconscious is responsible for your safety and is running 95% of your day-to-day affairs anyway, the hypnotherapist offers a voice for you to follow consciously. 

02  Trance state versus sleep

One noticeable difference between a trance state and sleep is during trance you interact with the hypnotherapist. The interaction may include nodding yes or no. It may also include answering questions by speaking.  

One of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves as humans is realizing how beautiful and powerful our minds are. Our minds are able to achieve greatness or fall into deep depressions. Most of us experience depression most of the time because that is what we have been taught. 

 

 

03 A Closer Look at Everyday Trance States

Your unconscious takes you in and out of trance states everyday. One of most common examples is when riding in a car, train, and bus. When you want the time to pass, you become focused on a specific task. Take a moment now and remember listening to your favorite song while riding in a car or a on a bike. Time passed quickly and when you arrived at your location, you wondered “Where did the time go?” 

 

 

 

04 Learning to Trust Your Unconscious

During hypnosis, you (your unconscious) are in control. If you have questions about this, ask Rick. Discussing this question may help you to relax and focus on the power you already have to bring change. 

 

05 What do you mean by “Your unconscious is sending you a red flag?” 

Since you are alive and you have this deep down desire to change one or more behaviors in your life, this prompting is coming from your unconscious. All you need to do is allow your unconscious (you) to do its job.  

You will learn how to change old strategies. We call these behavioral patterns. All it takes is patience and focus on your part.

 

06 Can anyone be hypnotized?  

Yes. 

Everyone goes in and out of hypnotic trance states daily. 

Many people have said to me, “I can’t be hypnotized.” I find this humorous. What they are saying is “I don’t understand what hypnosis is or how it works.” 

One definition of hypnosis is following a set of steps that a trained hypnotherapist offers you, so you can enter into a place of relaxation and focus. Entering into this trance state allows your unconscious mind to make changes quickly.      

 

07 Let’s simplify and demystify.   

In order to have a good experience with a hypnotherapist, its helpful to understand your part in the process. Once you have trust between you and the hypnotherapist, relaxation and trance comes quickly and naturally.

An example of this is when I receive calls from clients who are experiencing panic attacks.  When they hear my voice, within seconds they begin to relax. To learn more about this phenomenon, read the book The Zombie Trance

The only question you need to ask yourself is “Am I ready to get really relaxed and focused.” A hypnosis session is comparable to a psychotherapy (Freudian) session because in both meetings, there is interaction between both people.  The difference between the meetings is at some point, you will probably close your eyes, take several deep breaths, and become focused on allowing your mind to slow down so it can reveal what has been bothering you. 

There is a part of your brain some call the Critical Faculty. When you fall into a trance during the day, for example, as you are falling asleep, this part of your brain slows and relaxes. It does so by prompting of your unconscious.   

As a hypnotherapist, all I do is help you to relax and allow your unconscious to communicate directly with you. Since your unconscious is that part of you whose job it is to protect you the more you learn to trust it, the faster you will find your healing path.   

 

08 What can I expect during the first session? 

You will remain fully alert.

At the first meeting, you can ask questions about how the process works. Since each person’s experience is different, there isn’t a list we can print that will offer all the possibilities. What is most important is that you learn to relax, ask questions, and ask relax. 

Throughout the day, your unconscious takes you in and out of trance states. 

Here is a short list:

01  A sport you enjoy doing that offers you bliss. 

02  A place you enjoy visiting that you visit regularly.

03  A hobby you enjoy doing.  

 

09 Other ways to prepare for a session:

01 An important skill to practice is listening to Rick’s voice. As you grow more comfortable with how he leads you, your unconscious will begin to bring up memories. If at any time during this process, a memory comes that is uncomfortable, let him know. 

Remember, all your memories are only experiences from the past — that’s it!. They have no power, unless you give them power. They cannot hurt you now, so your unconscious is bringing them to your conscious awareness for the purpose of healing them. 

Rick has been coaching people for more than 10 years. He has heard it all.  Whenever someone begins to share their life experiences, both the wonderful and uncomfortable memories, he is humbled and honored to be part of the healing process.

11 Terms to understand

01  association versus disassociation

Association is what you are doing when you are fulling involved in an activity. An example is when you are eating lunch slowly and enjoying each moment of the experience. During hypnosis, when you focus on remembering the event fully, we call this association.

Disassociation is when you are watching an event.  This includes watching a video of yourself on the TV.  You remember the event but you are no longer in the event.   During hypnosis, this means you imagine an event that happened in the past (or the future) and see at only as a spectator. 

 

02 the mind versus the brain

Your mind is the place (abstract or conceptual) where your memories are magically stored.

Your brain is the part of your body that you can see and touch.
